Cartagena de Indias, a city saturated with history, brilliance and happiness, will captivate you from the moment you set foot on its streets. I speak from my own experience, I can still feel the excitement of taking a taxi from the airport to the historic center and entering the walled city as if it had been yesterday. This beautiful corner was the starting point of our adventure in Colombia, and to be honest, I don’t think there is a more charming way to start. We spent four nights in this paradise and lived each day intensely, as if it were our last. In the next few lines, I will share with you everything you need to know about this wonderful city.

1. PLAYA BLANCA, CARTAGENA DE INDIAS

This beach is, without a doubt, the most famous in the vicinity of Cartagena de Indias, and it is not surprising, since its intense blue waters and white sand make it unforgettable. As soon as you set foot in the city, there is no shortage of options to explore this coastal paradise. However, it is fair to point out that, due to its popularity, PlayaBlanca can get quite busy, especially on weekends and holidays. Despite this, the experience of visiting this beach is worth it. To get there, you have the option of using public transport, such as buses and motorcycle taxis, or joining an organized tour from Cartagena that will take you to Playa Blanca. If you want to enjoy this beach at your own pace, consider spending the night in Playa Blanca, since the crossing begins around 4:00 p.m. I highly recommend you consider the Posada Chikiluky Barú as your refuge in this region.
